Atrapen al gringo

La vi hace un tiempo, esta entretenida, dominguera para pasar el rato. Las actuaciones de Mel Gibson siempre son buenas.

(CASTELLANO) No esperaba demasiado de Vacaciones en el Infierno, sinceramente. El tráiler y la premisa me olían a película olvidable, pero al final me llevé una sorpresa bastante agradable. Mel Gibson, como es habitual, se come la pantalla con su mezcla perfecta de locura, carisma y picardía. Se le nota cómodo en este tipo de papeles, donde todo es un poco sucio, un poco salvaje, y donde su personaje parece disfrutar metido en el caos. La película tiene un ritmo ágil y no da tiempo a aburrirse. Hay violencia, hay humor negro, y todo ese ambiente carcelario entre pesadilla y sátira que, aunque exagerado, resulta muy entretenido. No todo funciona al mismo nivel: algunos personajes secundarios rozan la caricatura y ciertas escenas buscan ser más impactantes que creíbles, pero nada que llegue a estropear el conjunto. Se podría decir que es una "película de tíos" en el mejor sentido: adrenalina, personajes pasados de vueltas y situaciones llevadas al límite. Y aunque en algún momento pueda rozar el exceso, la verdad es que se pasa volando y deja un buen sabor de boca. Sin ser una obra maestra, Vacaciones en el Infierno es un thriller carcelario con personalidad, bien llevado y, sobre todo, muy divertido de ver. (ENGLISH) I honestly wasn’t expecting much from Get the Gringo. The trailer and the premise made it seem like just another forgettable movie, but in the end, it turned out to be a pretty pleasant surprise. Mel Gibson, as usual, completely owns the screen with his perfect mix of craziness, charisma, and wit. You can tell he’s comfortable in this kind of role, where everything is a little dirty, a little wild, and where his character seems to thrive in the chaos. The film moves at a brisk pace and never really lets you get bored. There’s violence, dark humor, and that prison setting that feels like a mix between a nightmare and a satire—exaggerated, yes, but very entertaining. Not everything works perfectly: some of the supporting characters are close to being caricatures, and a few scenes try to be more shocking than believable, but nothing that ruins the experience. You could call it a "guy movie" in the best sense: adrenaline, over-the-top characters, and crazy situations pushed to the limit. Even if it goes a bit overboard at times, the truth is it flies by and leaves you in a good mood. Without being a masterpiece, Get the Gringo is a prison thriller with a lot of personality, well-executed, and above all, a whole lot of fun to watch.
