(CASTELLANO) Al principio parece una comedia romántica de lo más normal, pero pronto el tono da un giro inquietante. Fresh, debut de Mimi Cave, se mueve entre lo cotidiano y lo macabro, y aunque el tema pueda resultar desagradable, mantiene al espectador atrapado con una mezcla de tensión, humor negro y un estilo muy personal. Daisy Edgar-Jones es el gran acierto de la película, aportando fragilidad y fuerza en la misma medida. Frente a ella, Sebastian Stan brilla como un villano seductor y perturbador, que logra fascinar y repeler al mismo tiempo. La relación torcida entre ambos sostiene buena parte de la historia y hace que resulte imposible apartar la mirada. La dirección de Cave destaca por cómo utiliza la puesta en escena y el sonido para incomodar. No busca el susto fácil, sino que construye una atmósfera enrarecida que va creciendo poco a poco. La violencia está ahí, pero lo que más golpea es la sensación de estar ante un retrato retorcido de las relaciones modernas. Es cierto que hacia el final se repite en algún momento y pierde parte del impacto inicial, pero la película nunca deja de ser entretenida. Tiene ritmo, personajes que funcionan y un guion que se atreve a ir más allá de lo esperado en un debut. Fresh no será para todos los gustos, pero es valiente y diferente. Daisy Edgar-Jones is the film’s greatest strength, delivering both vulnerability and strength in equal measure. Opposite her, Sebastian Stan shines as a seductive yet disturbing villain, capable of fascinating and repelling at the same time. The twisted relationship between them drives much of the story and makes it impossible to look away. Cave’s direction stands out for how she uses staging and sound to create unease. She doesn’t rely on cheap scares; instead, she builds an increasingly tense atmosphere. The violence is there, but what hits hardest is the sense of watching a distorted portrait of modern relationships. It’s true the film loses some impact toward the end and falls into a bit of repetition, but it never stops being engaging. It has pace, characters that work, and a script bold enough to push further than expected for a debut. Fresh won’t be for everyone, but it’s daring and different. Mimi Cave shows she knows how to hold the audience’s attention and that she has plenty of potential in the genre.
